HENLEY AND DISTRICT BILLIARDS AND SNOOKER LEAGUE ETIQUETTE / GENERAL 1. Captains should ask all players to have phones on silent for duration of match 2.all players should be present for start of match. 3.referees should carry out task properly, not stand by scoreboard all game 4.if players need to leave the room during game the referee should be informed 5.if drinks are needed a non playing team member should fetch them 6.team captains should inform all players for breaches of etiquette.7. All registered players to supply a phone number. 8. Only players registered for the previous season will be able to vote on rule changes. 9. Any grievance an individual or club has with the league must be taken up with the committee and not aired publicly on social media. Any deviation from this may result in the individual or team being barred from the league. BILLIARD RULES 1. Clubs to register teams before the season begins and any players must be members of that club. 2. Surplus players can be registered as reserves 3. After season starting, new players can only be registered at halfway point. In exceptional circumstances only, the committee may permit a player registration outside of this timescale. 4. Any 4 players to play on match night 5. Teams can utilise a reserve as often as necessary 6. Random draw to be made 7. Order of play to be determined by home team and the home team or home player can choose whether to play with pro cup or traditional billiard balls. 8. Games to be played up to 200 points, two points awarded for a win and one point awarded for scoring 80% of total needed 9. Players to play off their allocated handicaps 10. Where a team can only provide 3 players, it is permissible for one of the three to play twice. A random draw should be made to determine who that player is and they cannot be nominated 11. A team cannot play with only 3 players more than 4 times a season 12. Matches to start at the appointed time and play should be continuous, if for any reason play is delayed for an extended time, the offending player can be liable to forfeit the game 13. A match card should be used to record players surnames and breaks of 30 and over and result sent to fixture secretary that day 14. Failure to comply can result in a warning 15. Where a team only have two players, the match is treated as not played and the secretary should be informed immediately. Matches not played should be re-arranged and played within 14 days. Failure to comply will render the offending team receiving no match points and opponents receive their average home or away points scored over the whole season 16. Personal handicaps based on previous results will be compiled by the secretary and published before the season begins 17. New players to be play off a provisional handicap assessed by their captain, if in view of the committee a provisional handicap is shown to be wholly inappropriate, they may revise it with immediate effect 18. Handicaps to be reviewed at the end of each season 19. New player handicaps shall be reviewed at halfway point in the season 20.League positions determined by the number of league points scored 21. In the event of two of more teams finishing with equal points, the number of league points scored against the teams concerned shall be taken into account 22. If teams cannot be separated using rule 21, then a play off at a neutral venue will take place. PETER PIGGOTT CUP COMPETITION A team knockout or mixed league and knockout competition and all games played using current league handicaps 23. Prior to match commencing the two captains shall nominate a member of their team to play a deciding game if necessary to secure a positive result for the match 24. If, a team only has 3 players, rule 10 cannot be utilised in cup competition 25. If, a reserve is used they cannot play for any other team in the cup competition 26. If an earlier start time is necessary, captains should inform their players to ensure the time is adhered to 27. For Final's night, where multiple matches are being played, play with be according to the schedule drawn up by the organising committee member(s) before the start of play, and be on a roll off, roll on basis, ie no waiting for a specific table 28. Semi finals of this competition should be played on neutral tables and each team should provide two referees 29. The Committee to arrange neutral referees for final BILLIARDS CHAMPIONSHIP An individual player competition open to any registered player 30.Games to be played 300 up and without handicaps 31. The first named player in the draw, is deemed the home player and they must arrange the match giving their opponent adequate time to agree arrangements 32. Home players must arrange a referee for match. If the home player fails to secure a referee, they must inform the away player and the away player can, if they wish bring a referee. If both players are in agreement, they can play without a referee. The away player however still has the option to claim the game if a referee cannot be secured. 33. If a match is not played by the stated closing date, the secretary can disqualify the home player for not organising the match in good time, or the away player if it is felt that the home player has made every effort to arrange the match. JACK HEDLEY BILIARDS HANDICAP COMPETITION An individual player competition open to any registered player 34.Games of two hundred up played using current player handicaps 35. Rules 32, 33 and 34 apply 36. Semi finals to be played on neutral tables 37. Players finding they are playing a home player in the final may choose which table they play on FRANK PEPALL SENIORS CUP An individual player competition open to players of 60 years and over 38.Rules 31 to 37 apply |
