15/1/2025 Meeting 3 Wallsend Buffs
Present: Allan Adams, Alex Brown, John Craig, Derek Bell, Billy Flamson and Colin Whittle.

Draws were made for the Knockout Cup preliminary rounds for both division 1 and division 2 which will be played on Tuesday 11th February.
The last 16 of the division 1 singles, last 16 of the doubles and last 16 of the veterans were also drawn and are best of 3 frames.
The division 2 singles quarter finals were drawn and will be played over the best of 5 frames.
The deadline for all competitions is Tuesday 4th March with a contact date of Tuesday 4th February.
It was agreed that the date of the meeting will no longer be acceptable to use as a match date. The deadline is fixed and any players not getting matches completed by then will be in danger of being removed from the competition.
Any issues in arranging matches please inform the league committee as soon as possible

Due to holidays Heaton Buffs A v Westfield on 21/1 has been postponed, as neither team were drawn out in the knockout cup preliminary round this fixture will now be played on Tuesday 11th February

Meeting 4 will be held at Wallsend Buffs on Wednesday 5th March starting at 7.30pm

The meeting scheduled for Wednesday 15th January at wallsend buffs will start at 6pm instead of the usual 7.30pm due to the rearranged game between Wallsend Buffs and Westfield in the semi final of the peter heron memorial trophy.

20/11/2024 Meeting 2 Wallsend Buffs

The quarter finals on Tuesday November 26th and the semi finals on Tuesday 17th December of the Peter Heron Memorial Trophy were drawn
Whitley Comrades have asked to postpone their match with Heaton Buffs A due to Alan Smiths funeral on the scheduled date.

The deadline for the veterans, doubles, division 1 and division 2 singles is Tuesday 14th January with a contact date of Tuesday 10th December. Any problems in arranging matches please get in touch with the league committee as soon as possible.

Meeting 3 will be held at Wallsend Buffs on Wednesday January 15th starting at 7.30pm.

Alan Smith from Whitley Bay Comrades sadly passed away on Saturday after a short illness his funeral will be on Tuesday 26th November

16/10/2024 Meeting 1 Wallsend Buffs

Two requests were made from teams in the league for away draws in next weeks Peter Heron Round 1 due to things happening in their club. As it happens both teams were drawn out away from home so no fixtures were reversed.

The preliminary rounds of the following competitions were drawn out by Billy Flamson and Terry Douglas
Division 1 singles (9 matches, 23 byes)
Division 2 singles (15 matches, 1 bye
League doubles (5 matches, 27 byes)
League veterans (14 matches, 18 byes)
The deadline for all matches is Tuesday 19th November and the date for home players to contact their opponent is Tuesday 29th October otherwise away players may claim home advantage.
As always if there is any problems in arranging matches please contact the league committee as soon as possible.
It is the winning players responsibility to inform John Craig of the result of the game

All match results have been handed in.

Although ultimately it is the players responsibility to keep check of the scores, if they do ask a referee what the score is they must say what the frame score is and not how far ahead or behind a player is to avoid any mistakes as has already happened on a couple of occasions this season. Also to avoid any confusion it would be easier to have the home team on the top of the scoreboard as most teams currently do.

The next meeting will be held at Wallsend Buffs on Wednesday 20th November starting at 7.30pm

The draws for the opening round of all league competitions will be done at tomorrow nights meeting at wallsend buffs starting at 7.30pm if there is anybody who wants to be added to any of the following lists please let me know before or at the meeting.

The Peter Heron Memorial Trophy preliminary round was drawn with 2 ties and 14 byes to be played on Tuesday 24th September.

After some complaints about some late results can all teams please ensure they are sending me the result as soon as possible(preferably by a picture of the match card).

Draws for the Peter Heron last 16 and the preliminary rounds of the Veterans, Doubles, Division 1 and Division 2 singles will be made at the next meeting. Alex Brown was appointed League Chairman after the resignation of Terry Douglas from the position. John Craig and Allan Adams were reconfirmed as Secretary and Treasurer.

The liberal team are changing their venue to the Heaton Meadowfield and Wallsend Buffs will be entering a B team this season. We have 18 teams to be split into two divisions of 9 playing eachother 3 times

Division 2. Jubilee, Meadowfield, Westholme, Springbank, Dunston, Engineers, Forest Hall, Heaton Buffs B, Wallsend Buffs B

The league fees/fines will stay the same as last season.

The meetings will stay the same as last season by being all at Wallsend Buffs on the dates given on the fixture lists but teams do not have to have a representative at the meetings.
A whats app group for team captains will be set up for any issues that may arise during the season.

It was decided that Division 1 and Division 2 will now have separate singles competitions the idea of preliminary rounds being best of 3 then moved up to best of 5 with best of 7 final was also put forward and will be voted on at the next meeting. The doubles and veterans competitions will stay as all league competitions.

The drinks will still be bought for the away teams in league matches however this will only be compulsory for the first 2 rounds of fixtures.

Under 18 players will still be allowed to play in team games where in venues they have permission to play in, currently they are not allowed to play In Wallsend Buffs, Heaton Buffs, Bentinck and there is some clubs that are unsure. Can all clubs check with their respective chairman/owners ahead of the next meeting whether or not they can play. At the moment it is only 15 year old Logan Hall of Gosforth B that plays, however after the meeting Dave Robinson informed us that Lee Curtis�s son who is 14 will also be signing for the Engineers.

It was decided the presentation night/Division 1 Singles will be at Dunston, with Westholme getting the doubles final and engineers hosting the Division 2 singles final. As the meetings are no longer compulsory the other final venues and semi finals will be drawn at the next meeting from those willing to host them.

Borderline Taxis(John Best) and Precision Joinery & Tiling(Billy Hunter) will continue to sponsor the league this season and Cyle Pringle will now sponsor the knockout cups of Division 1 and 2. If anybody else has or knows of a business that would like to sponsor any league competition please get in touch with any of the league committee.

The league will start with the peter heron preliminary round on Tuesday 24th September with the league itself beginning on Tuesday 1st October.

Please bring all registration forms and fees to the registration meeting on Wednesday 18th September at Wallsend Buffs starting at 7.30pm.
