To all the Wednesday snooker league players,

it is with deep sadness that i have to inform you all that Kevin McEwan passed away at his home on Thursday night, he hadn't been well for a couple of weeks but put it
down to a bit of food poisoning. he was feeling better and played Wednesday so this has come as a huge shock to us and his family and I am sure you will join me and
the rest of the Ambleside team in sending his family our deep felt sympathy.
He had played for our team for nearly 20 years and was a quiet gentle man who would do anything for you and will be sadly missed by us all.

Rest in peace mate.

Steve Johnson.

I totally agree, another one of the nice fellas.
Kevin always played with a smile and enjoyed his Wednesday nights.
Please accept our condolences from all at Shoebury Con A.
Also thinking of Kevin's poor mother who has lost so much in the last couple of years.

Rest in peace Kev

I am still finding it hard to believe Kev has gone.

The man was a diamond in the rough. Although he lived alone, he was a very sociable man who, like you said, would do anything for anyone.
I am forever indebted to Kev for putting me, my wife Anna and our 2 cats up for nearly 4 months whilst we had building work done. The original timescale we were told was 6-8 weeks, but Kev, in his nature, didn't complain one bit that it ran over schedule, refused to accept any rent and made us feel like it was home. That was Kev all over.
Kev never forgot a birthday or anniversary and was like a true uncle to our daughter Anya. He loved spoiling and entertaining her.
If anyone could ever fault Kev, it was that he never made a fuss about anything and refused to accept help even though he had great pleasure in giving it.
Even when unwell, he made it out that he was fine.
Sadly, had he only reached out for help in the last few weeks, we may not have lost a true friend and team member.

You'll be forever in our thoughts Kev.
