Well played to Cory Harvey, Levi Griffiths, Ant Eeles, Mal Spicer, Andy Fisher for reaching the Semi-Finals of the Merseyside Interleague competition after finishing 2nd in their group with two wins of 6-0, v Widnes, 5-1 v CMS and 1-5 against v NMSL, best of luck for the semi final lads. Rehandicapping is NOW done use from Tuesday 23rd January, the full list is on the documents page as a pdf and I'll send all who are registered an email when the site has been updated. Dates have been added for the last 16 matches in the Merits, Handicap, Veterans and Pairs. The Draw for the Secretary's and Team Competition will be done at the meeting on Friday 5th Jan. The Merseyside Champion of Champions competition is at Scotties club in Liverpool on Sunday 7th January 11.30am start, dress code smart (no Jeans, trainers, t shirts) The Wallasey representatives will be the Merits winner and finalist, Marc Daugherty and Leroy Williams. All are welcome to attend to see some excellent snooker. The next Committee meeting is on Friday 3rd November 2023. 7.30pm. The league table has now been adjusted after the Week 1 Bronze v Sacred Heart result. The next Committee meeting is on Friday 6th October 2023. 7.30pm. Wallasey competition entry forms have been given out by Adam, (Merits £5. Handicap £4. Pairs £6 (£3 per Player) and Vets over 55 years Free). and should be on your club notice boards and are also on the documents page and should be returned together with fees at this meeting. I have found a fault on last season's spreadsheet that calculates the handicaps for this season, it missed the last 3 games for everyone who played in them. I have now corrected the handicaps on the website ( bear in mind handicaps in the fixturebook maybe incorrect for some). They didn't change the result of Week 1 Tuesday's games. My thanks to Sean McDonnell for bringing it to my attention. Week 1 Bronze v Sacred Heart result will probably be reversed as the incorrect handicaps were used, but the card was signed as correct, showing the Bronze as winners. Please remember there will be some fixture clashes with Sacred Hearts home matches so the matches will have to be played on the Monday before, so far it affects Weeks 3 (now 18 Sept), 5 (2nd Oct) , 13 (27th Nov), 17 (8th Jan), 25 (4th March) in the fixture book but there maybe others. CONFIRM the rearranged dates with Barry Smith before turning up on the Monday. Some sad news that Mike Hanna has died, Mike played for teams from the Conny Club for many years, Mike's funeral is on Tuesday 12th September 10.30am at St Peter and Pauls Church New Brighton. All Season 2023-24 fixtures are now added, the seasons starts on Tuesday 5th September 2023. The next committee meeting is on Friday 1st September 7.30 when fixture books and result cards will be given out. Also any registration fees not paid, can be paid at this meeting. PLEASE remember FAILURE to attend meetings will mean TWO points deduction.
