on Thursday, February 16, 2006 J You can find the official rules about foul and a miss here (section 2.20, and in the main, section 3.14)........... http://www.worldsnooker.com/about_the_rules.htm Nowhere in these rules does it say that a swerve shot is an automatic miss. Of course, if you can see any part of the ball on when you are playing the swerve shot, then obviously that is a miss, but from a snooker position, I would say it is at the discretion of the referee, as in section 2.20. Of course, there are people that don't agree with this, but that is my interpretation of those rules. After reading them, what do you think? Ste. |

on Saturday, February 18, 2006 In the case you've just stated, if EITHER player needed a snooker before the shot, or needed a snooker after the miss and the points had been put on, a miss cannot be called, its as simple as that. It doesnt matter if he could see the ball or not, if snookers are required, a miss cannot be called. Cheers ste. |
