It was a great turnout for Mike's funeral yesterday despite the wind and the rain. Thank you to all the league members who were able to attend. The donations to Rochford C.A.B. where Mike volunteered were gratefully received.
Mike's wife Angela was very brave on the day and so pleased that so many snooker friends made the day.
Angela also expressed a wish to buy a memorial trophy for the League. I told her this would be a great idea and I have an idea which I would like to discuss further with the committee. It would be called the Captain's Cup and naturally only open to team captains to play a one day knockout tournament.
Thanks again
Keith

Ay, it was a good service. I thought the two guys delivered their eulogies really well and really captured the qualities of Mike's character.

On a small point - and I'm not a captain so you can tell me to butt out if you like - but would it not be more appropriate to call it the Mike Allen Cup, or Mike Allen Memorial Trophy? (It can still be for captains only to participate).
