The veterans final between Brian Bell and Colin Whittle that was scheduled for Wednesday May 15th has been rearranged for Tuesday 30th April due to Manchester United v Newcastle United being played on May 15th

Jubilee have decided to drop out from the rest of this season due to a lack of players. All of the results from there games this season will be removed from the league table tomorrow when I put tonights results up.

The league meeting scheduled for the 3rd April has been cancelled. The semi finals of the league singles will now be drawn tonight instead of tomorrow.

East end liberal have confirmed that they will be playing their remaining home games at the bottom club

28th February Meeting 4 at Wallsend Buffs
Present: Allan Adams, John Craig, Terry Douglas, Kenny Wilson, Alex Brown and Billy Flamson
Draws were completed by Allan, Terry, Kenny and Billy
Due to the liberal closing down a new venue for the doubles final was drawn between the clubs that had only received one venue this season. Gosforth, Springbank, Forest Hall and Westholme. It was decided by those in attendance that Whitley Bay Comrades would be too small to host the final. Springbank were the club drawn to host.
After a miscommunication over whether the game was arranged or not there is an extension to the whittle/craig v hunter/hall doubles match. The winners will play Mick Flett/Chris Dees at Westfield.
Because of this it was decided that when a competition match is arranged the league committee should be informed by either the players involved in said match or their team captain.
The contact date for the singles is Tuesday 12th March with deadline of Tuesday 2nd April.
The Division 1 rearranged game between whitley comrades and jubilee is set for 19th March.
The Division 2 rearranged game between Bentinck and liberal has also been provisionally arranged for 19th March and the game between Westholme and Forest Hall will be arranged as soon as possible.
All other match scores and player results have been handed in.
The next meeting will be on April 3rd at Wallsend Buffs.

17th January Meeting 3 at Wallsend Buffs

All draws were completed by Allan Adams, Alex Brown and Colin Whittle.
In doubles an extension was granted to Ingles/Anderson v Best/Brown(playing 21/1) and Hunter/Hall v Fleming/Fleming jnr(playing 22/1) for the next round I have put 1 player from each team as a pairing until the results come through.
For the singles an extension was granted to Shipley v Leach(playing18/1) and Best v Hall(playing 23/1) I have put the current home player through to the next round until the actual result comes through.
For the singles, doubles and veteran competitions the deadline is Tuesday 27th February to play games while the contact date for the home players is upto and including the 30th January otherwise the away player can claim the home tie.
As always any problems in contacting players or arranging games please inform the league committee as soon as possible.
In the Division 2 knockout cup Round 1 Forest Hall are at home to the winner of the preliminary round tie between Heaton Buffs A and Heaton Buffs B. I have put Heaton Buffs A in fr this fixture as they are the current home player.
It was accepted that the fixtures in Division 1 would be edited due to the refitting of Wallsend Buffs in April, I will inform the captains of the teams affected today of the small amount of fixtures this involves.

The Peter Heron final will be held at Wallsend Buffs on Tuesday 9th January.
There was an incident before the Engineers v westholme match that ended up with two players fighting a decision will be made in this when we have more information.
After hearing of some instances when a referees decision has been questioned can I remind players that the referees decision is final however it is the players in said frame that are allowed to question decisions and it should not descend into other team members shouting at the referee
The only player results for matches not received is for Dunston v Heaton Buffs B on 28th November

The following teams have confirmed that under 18s are unable to play games in their club.
Throckley, Wallsend Buffs, Heaton Buffs A&B, Forest Hall. Some clubs were unable to confirm tonight and will get back to me as soon as possible.

The offer from Wallsend Buffs of £150 in exchange for hosting the Peter Heron Memorial Trophy final was accepted.

The singles final/presentation night was drawn out and will be held at Dunston.

All other final and semi final venues were also drawn out as follows:
Singles
Final: Dunston. Semis: Whitley Comrades and Westholme
Doubles
Final: Liberal. Semis: Westfield and Dunston
Veterans
Final: Heaton Buffs. Semis: Wallsend Buffs and Engineers
Division 1 KO Cup
Final: Westfield. Semis: Gosforth and Gateshead
Division 2 KO Cup
Final: Engineers. Semis: Springbank and Forest Hall
Peter Heron Trophy
Final: Wallsend Buffs. Semis: Heaton Buffs and Gateshead(Forgot to draw semis out at the meeting so semis were drawn randomly from those who had not already been selected for a second venue by Andrew Skilling)
These venues will not change if a player/team gets drawn at their home venue however there may be a slight edit of venues if a team that is due to host a semi final is drawn into the other semi final.

The proposal to split the singles and doubles competitions between divisions 1 and 2 was rejected however I will run a singles competition at the end of the season in this manner to see what interest there would be ahead of next season.

As there is no monthly meetings this season can I remind all captains that a picture of the completed scorecard should be sent to John Craig or posted to the facebook group to collate results. If this is not possible the result itself can be sent to John with the physical scorecards either handed to John, Allan Adams or Terry Douglas. Also for all cup games it is the responsibility of the winning player/team to ensure the result is given to John Craig before the given deadline.

For the Newcastle United champions league group games being played on Tuesdays there will be no fixtures that week.

The teams have agreed to carry on buying the 6 drinks for the opposing team on league matches however we decided to just do this for Rounds 1 and 2 on the fixtures.

Players under the age of 18 will now be allowed to play in league matches in clubs that they are allowed in. Would each captain please find out whether their club allows this before the registration meeting.

Monthly meetings now all be held at Wallsend Buffs but will no longer be mandatory to attend, the dates will still be published on the fixtures for when competition draws will be done for anybody that wants to be there. To reflect this we have changed the league fees to the following
League Entry: £90
Player Registration: £2
Singles Entry: £3
Doubles Entry: £4
Veterans Entry: £2
With attendance not being mandatory for handing in the match cards if it has been posted to the facebook group, sent to me or handed to me that will count as being received and no fine will be given. Preferably I will receive these on the night of the game.
For any competition the winning player must inform me of the result when the game is played as soon as possible.

At the registration meeting we will be drawing the venue for the singles final/presentation night out it was decided that for being able to see the game, having space to fit the amount of people expected to attend and parking availability this would be between Dunston, Engineers and Westholme.
All other finals will be drawn from clubs who wish to host one and will not be changed. For semi-finals a suitable neutral venue will be sought when the draws are being made.

Regarding sponsorship of the league I am delighted to announce that Borderline taxis will be the title sponsor of the league this season and that Precision Joinery and Tiling has agreed to sponsor the league singles. If anybody has there own business they would like to promote or knows somebody that would be interested in doing so please get in contact with me.

Can all teams please bring completed registration forms and any applicable fees to the registration meeting which will be held at the Engineers on Tuesday 26th September starting at 7.30pm
